How To Care For Brazilian Virgin Hair

Brazilian virgin hair that is used for premium extensions, weaves, and wigs is real human hair therefore it must be cared for just like you would your own hair. Here are some tips on how to take care of your Brazilian virgin hair so that it will last you a super long time:

Shampooing and Conditioning:

You need to shampoo and condition your Brazilian virgin hair with good quality products. When shampooing your hair you should rub the shampoo in at the top and let it run through the ends. Next, apply a conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse with cold water. If you wear your hair frequently you should wash it at least once a week. If you only use it occasionally wash it after 2 or 3 uses.

Drying

You want to limit the amount of heat that you use on your hair extensions to keep them in great shape. If you need to blow dry them you can but it is best to let them air dry to avoid using too much heat. If you are going to blow dry your extensions use a low heat and pat them dry with a towel before blow drying them.

Styling

Brazilian virgin hair can withstand heat so you can use heat styling tools on them but make sure you aren't using the highest heat setting. Avoid blow drying your hair if you plan on using heat styling tools on them frequently. You can also apply heat resistant hair products and other styling products to the hair. If you purchase the hair with a straight, wavy, or curly texture then that is the texture it will have when it dries.

Brushing

Avoid brushing the hair roughly as this can cause the hair to shed from the track. Hold the track firmly and gently brush the hair using detangler as needed. Don't try to brush the hair while it is wet. Instead, use a wide tooth comb. You can even purchase a looped brush made specifically for hair extensions to make brushing a lot easier.

Storing

Braid your hair loosely and neatly, then tie it off with a mini rubber band when you are not using it. Wrap the hair in tissue paper and store it in a box or container. If you want to splurge, you can even purchase a case that is created just for hair extensions.
